DTV DVR R10 what remote?

Garage sale-ing today. Picked up a DVR R10 w/Tivo

no remote

I think it came with a peanut shaped remote with thumbs up an down buttons.

How could I get a new white DirecTV to work with it or a

or

D770

If the white remote has Format key, then the tivo codes are 01442 & 01142. There won't be any power commands for tivo on the power keys, if your receiver is in standby, press menu or guide to awaken it.


If your white remote lacks a Format key, ala RC16 remote, then you can only control it partially using code 20618 on either AV1 or AV2 devices. Partially because keys like GUIDE are locked to the Directv device, which on the rc16 remotes only accepts codes for Directv branded receivers using codes 00001-00004.

those remotes at walmart you can find them for wayyyyyyyyyyyyy cheaper at Solid Signal - Signal Solutions including HDTV Antennas, DIRECTV & DISH Network satellite equipment and home entertainment supplies & accessories. $5 at solidsignal while walmart about $20. Talk about a deal

But at Walmart there is no shipping charge or delay, you can pick it up go home and try it. If it dosen't work as you want it to just take it back and get a refund. Yes convience can cost a little more but sometimes is worth the price.

I already own the white remote and it works fine.

The red button takes care of the thumbs down function

OK almost all is good. I have the TV, DVR and my DVD running fine. I also would like to control my Home Theater receiver as well.

I know how to program the codes but what buttons are going to be active?

Mainly I would like to control volume and input source.

Do those 3xxxx codes fire up some different buttons. The big +/- volume button only runs the TV volume no matter what function is selected.

never mind, I had to "unlock" the volume button.

I have a R64RB back-lit remote

To unlock the volume:

1. switch slider all the way to the left to directv function
2. press the mute and select buttons till the green LED flashes twice
3. press numbers 9-9-3 (the LED will blink twice)
4. press and release the Vol+ button ( the LED will blink 4 times)

now the TV volume works on the Directv and TV positions

and the Home Theater volume can work on either AV1 or AV2
