DTV Remote - Disable the Power Button?

Is there a way to disable the larger Power button on the DTV remote?

Sorry if this is listed but my searches struck out. I am trying to simplify the use of our setup by wife/kids.

I am trying to avoid the situation where the TV is on but says "No Signal". Our receiver is in a closet so no easy way to see if the blue light is on. Moreover I don't have a reason for turning off the receiver so would like to take this option away to avoid accidental button press issue.

This would be a great use for the Harmony remote. You can set up an activity that turns on the TV, but leaves the DVR "on" and allows you to use all DVR functions. Do you have other components that are connected to the TV, such as a DVD player? Maybe an AV receiver?

I have my HR10 and HR20 connected to my TV with an AV receiver. Two activities that turn on the TV and AV rcvr to the correct inputs and then sets the remote to control which ever DVR I want. Another activity for the DVD recorder.
