So this is moved in to position now? Live Real Time sat. shows it well past, but I seem to remember from previous launches that was not correct and based on projected position , not "real time"

Right. This it the time people start saying "it's crashing into the ocean!" or some such. Wait for the location to update and all will be well. :D
 
You guys are probably not going to see anything different for just in orbit testing. Like I said before... check your signals after 8/3.
 
They usually test things like station keeping, the ability to stay pointed at the earth, solar cell power production, batteries, etc first. They want to be sure the spacecraft made it to orbit in one piece. The command and control is usually tested before they actually get around to things like transponders.
