EMP 8by1 diseqc switch

I got my new switch today;All is working well on lnb1 thru lnb4, My question is, AM i understanding the instructions correctly? They say to go to the sat asigned to 5, then use the setup like you had a motor in diseqc 1.2, Hold either east or west button until you see max signal.Am i missing something here?

correct. You set up the other ports as motor. Press E or W until you get signal then save as a motor setting. It can be a pain but it does work

All ports have to be set up as a motor, including 1 to 4 (can't use DiSEqC #1, #2, etc.). I found with my Pansat that continuous holding of the east or west button did not work, and had to use short movements. Patience is the keyword here. See my review of the switch for more set up information:
