It's hardly a problem. It's barely noticeable. I just happened to notice it when it was posted here about the image above the ticker being small, which it is not (Except for commercials. I see it on both of my TVs and a friend with TWC sees it as well on "Screen Fit" with a Samsung TV, but not on 16:9. I assume that is to protect any fine print that may be at the bottom of a commercial that the ticker would cover. ESPN does this, too. It's SO MUCH better than squishing, like NHL Network.
