Fringe will be canceled just like all sci-fi related theme shows on networks do. You can look back historically on tv and see that the sci-fi related shows had to fight to stay on the entire time due to low ratings, like Star Trek. Three years and a letter writing campaign to keep it on for the last year. Sci-fi is a niche genre and as such it belongs on a sci-fi related channel like the old Sci-Fi channel was before last year's change to Syfy. Now that channel is as much about wrestling as it is about the monster of the week movies. Networks appeal to a broad audience of viewer's taste and sadly the over all public doesn't care for sci-fi themed shows. Unless they are short termed monster of the week approach like the X-Files did. People don't have the attention span needed to tell ongoing story arcs like Fringe is trying to tell.

I read that the title of the first Friday episode on Jan 21 is "Firefly". Coincidence?

Great, BUT I hope they do a better job next year. This has been the weakest season so far.
