I was given a super dish with the FSS linear lnb attached. On a previous thread I remember someone saying that the FSS is a vertical lnb. If this is true, Is it possible to turn a vert lnb into a Horz lnb by rotating it 90 degrees?

Yup. I have accidentally installed an LNB wrong and had to flip all the polarities of my TP's because I was too lazy to change it (it was on a c-band dish and required a ladder).
The advantage of stacked LNBs is that all polarities are available at all times over the same single cable. This eliminates a lot of switching and cabling headaches ...
