Just connected Genie Go. Apps are installed on iPad and iPhone. Question is , when I try to download a recorded show I'm getting a waiting to prepare message that won't go away. Shows won't download.

Any help is appreciated

How long did you wait? They prepare in essentially playback speed or slightly faster. So an hour show likely takes 45+ minutes to "transcode" before it will be available to download to the device.
 
Hooked up my Genie Go with no issues... Everything works fine on iPad but I can't stream live tv to iPhone SE, any ideas?

I believe that is a limitation with Apple OS. The work around is to record the show you wish to playback (LIVE), and then it would be available on the GENIE Go app on your Apple device.
 
The latest update to the DIRECTV app allows for live streaming via WiFi and cellular connections.
