GTMedia V8 Finder 2 For SAT ID

Thanks, I knew it couldn't "see" Turbo, but didn't realize it could detect L and R polarities. Why does my receiver see Directv TP's on 101 sometimes when the LO is set to 10750?
DirecTV uses h.264 and h.265 MPEG4 encoding (may still be a few MPEG2 transponders remain for SD programming???) with Videoguard encryption. An FTA STB will detect these transponder streams. A Universal type LNBF receives DirecTV and DIsh Network carriers with frequency coverage up to 12750MHz and a standard type LNBF often will pass frequencies above 12200MHz. A circular polarity signal will be received on a linear type LNBF with approximately 3dB of attenuation and without a depolarizer (or electronically phased, as with the Invacom QPH/QPF-031) and may be logged as a horizontal and/or vertical polarity transponder.

Example: 12225 (DirecTV TP Frequency) - 10750 (LO Frequency) = 1475 IF ( Most FTA STBs tuners cover an IF range of 950 - 2150 MHz). As you see, if a standard type LNBF band pass includes the DBS / DSS frequency range 12200 to 12750 MHz, then these frequencies fall within the tuner frequency range of most FTA STBs.
