Guide differences

Yesterday I noticed the Guide on my Wireless Joey 4 looked different. Today the Mrs mentioned it too.
Here is my H3 Guide.

And here is the Guide on my wireless Joey 4.

Previously my memory seems to think they were the same.

We prefer the Hopper 3 Guide but there is nothing I can find on the J4 that allows me to revert it to what it was.

Putting the description of the highlighted station at the top reduces the available channels in view from 8 to 6 and makes it slower to page up/down through channels looking for something/anything.

AND notice only 2 hours of programming are shown on the J4 whereas the Hopper 3 shows 2 1/2 hours.

Look at all the wasted black space at the top.

Hopper is on software H702, J4 is on P62703.

Is the lady that helps with Dish problems still on the forums?

I spent about 45 minutes talking with Dish support about how much worse the "new" guide is than the original one.

I have left complaints with several dish employees and perhaps if we let them know that their new guide is not so terrific, they might give us back the 2 1/2 hour eight line guide.

i'll have to check our wireless joey 4 later then!!! the wired joey 4 is still the hopper 3 guide
from your pics i think the new guide looks like crap!!! i prefer the old guide!!!

Sooner of later I believe everyone will be getting the new guide. I believe they are trying to make the DISH and Sling TV guide look the same.

I have been running the new guide for a quite awhile now and I have actually grown to like it. I was reverted back to the old guide for about 2 weeks, and was so happy when I got the new guide back again.

Give it time, I think you will like it.

Going from 8 ch. view to 6 is helpful? I presume you can change the # of lines presented in the guide like you can with ViP?

Its a lot easier to find things. You will get. use to it. I didn't like it at first, but again now I like it better. Feels modern and fresh.

BTW a few weeks ago my Tablo TV updated and is almost the same guide. Must be the way the industry is going.
