Hi all,

I'm in the process of switching over to D* from E*. DirecTV was just installed but have not cancelled Dish yet.

The problem I am having is that the white balance difference between stations is greatly exaggerated with the H20 compared to The Dish VIP-211. It is to the point of being annoying and lowering the color saturation does not help until levels are almost completely washed out.

This is a H20-100 connected to a Sony KDS-R60XBR2. I have tried component and HDMI with HDMI performing slightly better. Comparisons with the VIP-211 were done on the same HDMI input and same component input with the same settings. Stations compared include HBO, SHO, MHD, A&E, TNT, Disc HT, Disc, UNIHD, ESPN, TLC, HDNet, and HDNet Movies.

Does anybody have any suggestions for minimizing this? I do prefer D*'s content.

TIA
RudHam

I was just reading that the "native" resolution needs to be "Passed through" with the new Systems. If your unit is set to output a fixed resolution, that can cause a problem for SD signals.
Hope that this helped.

Thanks kstock,

Still having color issues with the H20. Does anyone have a SXRD XBR and the H20 who won't mind sharing their settings?

I have a KDS-60A2000 with an HR20 and everything looks GREAT. If you think my settings may work for you, let me know. From what I understand there isn't much difference in the picture between the two models.
