I have a H25-700 receiver, a power inserter, a slimline dish with a SWM lnb with a single input. Cannot get signal from satellite, and it says cannot detect Swm. I put a 75ohm resister on the cable coming from the inserter and checked it out up at the dish and everything is reading good. Am I missing something?

:welcome to Satelliteguys Tony1981!

First off, what's the resistor for? You don't need it. Second, how are you pointing the dish? Did you set the elevation and skew and determine the correct azimuth? Did you check to be sure the mast is plumb?

Sorry, it's just a removable cap to test continuity through a wire. The dish is point 188° azimuth, 37° elevation and 83° tilt and the mast is plumb.

How did you set the elevation? You should use the back plate at the scale as the pointer, not the locking nut. If you are okay there, SLOWLY move the dish from just east of 188° towards the west, just a little at a time. Give the receiver a few seconds to record any change in signal strength. You should be able to get some signal from 101 without much trouble. When you do, check to be sure that most of the signal strength numbers on 101 are in the mid to upper 90s. Then check the 99ab/ac and 103ab/ac numbers. Optimally they will be in the mid 90s when you have it dialed in. Check youtube for videos on how to dither the dish.

IIRC, until you get signal from the satellite, you won't get the receiver to detect the swm. I'm not 100% certain on this, perhaps one of the techs can drop in and give you a better answer.

You should detect the SWM even if the dish is not pointing anywhere near the satellite.
Do you have the power inserter connected correctly?

This in my lnb. Using with h25-700 receiver

Are you sure the PI is good, 21 volts coming from it, maybe 29 depending upon the model? Has the lnb worked in another setup? How about the H25?
