seting up a hh90 in florida.lat is 27.2N lon is 80.3 after getting calcalation found what my declination angle is 3.95. so do I subtract this from motor or dish ? I'm very confused

You do not need to use the declination angle.
Set the Motor Latitude scale to Your Lat.
Motor Latitude: 27.2°
Dish Elevation: 40°
Azimuth (mag.): 186.0° using Compass
Make sure you know where the indicators are, it is usually not the bolt
Also, you must have an Active / Live Transponder selected in the receiver's set up menu for the Quality meter to light up.
Can you list all you equip?

Here is a video that may help...

Use the declination angle to help you get the dish angle set correctly. You do that by subtracting it from the angle of your motor mast. On a SG2100 for instance it is usually 30° so you would set your dish 30° - 3.95°=26.05 or just 26° on the DISH elevation scale. If you motor has a 40° bend in the mast (shaft) the the setting would be 36°. You will need to look in the manual that came with your motor to find out how much bend is in the mast.

This will get you in the ball park to find your satellite. I am attaching an install manual that SatelliteAV used to publish when they sold motors. I believe it is one of the better ones.
