Hookup Help......

I would like to confirm that the following component hookups are correct.

(All components have HDMI connections)

(1) HDMI from Sat Box to Surround Receiver

(2) HDMI from Surround Receiver to HDTV

(3) HDMI from DVD to HDTV

(4) HDMI from DVD to Surround Receiver

Am I missing anything? I am going to hook up the components for a friend of mine and want to be sure this works. Thanks for the help!

Remember, in this scenario, your friend will ALWAYS have to have the stereo on to hear TV. Other than that, everything looks fine.

Why not let the AV receiver do the hDMI switching? Connect the sat box and the DVD player to the receiver. This would eliminate the need to use two HDMI outputs from the DVD.

I agree with letting the AV receiver handle the HDMI switching....at least it works for me and only have to change the source at the AV receiver and not the HDTV. My Yamaha handles it quite well and if there's any hint of drop in PQ, as some would say on other HDTV boards, then I'm not seeing it or not visually sensitive enough to catch it.
