I want to watch the PAC 12 network, Dish has exclusivity, I have Direct TV.
I logically google Dish network and bars and my area code and get nothing.
I call Dish network customer service and they can't tell me.
I do same drill with Direct TV and put in Bars with Direct TV in my area and boom, there it is in 2 seconds.
Why would a business carry Dish network if their customers can't find them?
Why pay to have exclusivity in something huge like PAC 12 College football and then not assist your customers (the Bars that carry the service) in basic internet search tools or even a web page directory or something?

Just look at the roof and see if there is a DN Dish up there. That’s what I do.

First of all Dish would not publish a list of bars that have their sh!tty service, because people like me would call those bars all day long and switch them to Directv. Really!

Whenever we see a bar with a Dish Network Dish we literally will write down the address and have someone call them to switch to Directv.

Bars and restaurants pretty much get Directv. Very few bars have Dish, and the ones who do have dish for some weird reason probably either owe Directv money, or have something against Directv.

You don’t advertise the fact your bar has ugh, Dish. You advertise the fact you have Directv which is the leader in sports.

When I see a bar that has Dish, the first thing I say to my self “what the hell is wrong with that place”

And the off chance you find a bar with Dish, they probably got some cheap package with no channels and likely don’t have pac12. Most businesses who have Dish tend to spend less money.

Not trying to sound Dish Negative as usual, but Bars generally do not have Dish period.

Why do you hang out in this forum again?

I've done plenty of installs at bars, including a 3000 sq ft sports bar right near me. 13 TV's, 2 Hopper 2's, 6 Joeys, 5 mirrored with HDMI Splitters and 30' HDMI Cables, all new cable because whatever cabling DTV did there was a disaster - took 8 hours - and that's when we were still using DPP and Duo Nodes

John, why not just visit each of the bars in your area? It would be a fun research which could take place over several days/weeks.

My question would be, if you find a bar with DISH service in your area, what makes you think they are going to let you watch what you want? Is the PAC 12 really that popular in New York?

Does this mean if I find a bar with DISH there is a 100% chance I will never encounter you and your tribe ?

If you are in NY State, the chances of finding a sports bar & grille that has Dish are slim to none.

Besides no NFL ST there is no MSG, no MSG +, no YES, no SNY. There are probably more commercial establishments with Charter, Altice or Verizon then Dish Network in NY State.

Dish does not care about us. Not sure about Verizon or Altice, but I get the National feed of PAC 12 and all 6 regionals on Charter in Upstate NY.

Really?

Name a few places.

But seriously why would a bar need a hopper and joey setup?

A regular HD receiver at each Tv is all these places need.

Who knows? Maybe that's what the owner wanted?

That’s likely what the sales person wanted to sell them.

I never seen a bar require a DVR. A matter of fact Directv will not allow a DVR in a bar due to copy right issues.

Besides that, I don’t know any bar that would benefit from showing a previously played baseball or football game.

No fun watching if you already know who wins.

Funny enough, and ironically enough, every bar I stumble into here in Mesa, Az has Dish, and most also have DTV. Dish for college sports and DTV for NFL.

In Arizona I can see both as a must. DirecTV for NFL Sunday Ticket and Dish for PAC12. I could see the same for California, Oregon, Washington, Utah, and Colorado for the same reason. For the rest of the states ESPN probably fits the bill and both services have that.
