How do you feel about your baseball team at this point in the season?

MAN do I miss Miggy! IF he was still in this line-up WITH Hanley, either one would be THE front runner for MVP....the Marlins WOULD be closer or maybe even in 1st place.:(:(:(:(:river:river:river

...."shoulda, coulda, woulda....and if my aunt had ballz, she'd be my uncle...."
The front runner for MVP my ass! You'd better look at Albert Pujols numbers again. Or maybe even Ryan Howard. I'll bet anything you want that says Florida WILL NOT make the playoffs! Anything!

Love the Cubs coverage on WGN and Comcast 429 but what the hell I'm a cub fan and there goes another year that we go down again at the end of the season. Wait tell next year.

GOCUBS!!!

Um, if I'm not mistaken, Miggy is in Detroit and YES he could still win the MVP, but it's not as likely in the AL.

J. Verlander doesn't even get talked about in the Cy Young talks in most cases.

You can do whatever you want with your A$$....

But if Miggy was still in this line-up, I would say the Marlins are either in 1st or very close to and I will stand by those comments. As of now, the main guy is Albert because he is having a great year....but Hanley is not too far behind.

I am not a betting man because there is NOTHING I can do that will help the Marlins win or lose...as well as you being completely useless in help your Cardinals win or lose.

He sure is in the AL. If you had read, Salsa said if he was STILL a Marlin, he would be MVP. That was the point I disagreed with.:)

Red Sox fan . Winning the World Series twice is nice and it's all about October. Not really feeling any pressure for them to win it again . It would be nice. The yankees have all the pressure on them. It's been a while. The Angles are the team to beat this year. You can have the best record in baseball but that really doesn't seem to say you win the World Series anymore. Everyone wants to see the Red Sox Yankees in the playoffs. I feel bad about the Cubs this year.

Hmm isn't every year tho? Yup
I know but I would like to see them in the playoffs.
I blame this man

The Tigers are in first, I'm happy. At the beginning of the season I said if the pitching showed up they could win the division. I also said that there wasn't any doubts about their hitting. So I'm batting .500

Completely apathetic. I haven't watched a full game since before the All-Star break. It's just VERY discouraging that our current owner doesn't have deep enough pockets to compete consistently in a mid-market such as Cleveland. And unfortunately, until Baseball adopts a salary cap, it's going to be more of the same. The Cleveland Indians will continue to be the farm system for the rest of the league. We'll continue to develop talented players, turn them into All-Stars and Cy Young winners, only to watch them get traded away when their value exceeds our affordability. Sad state of affairs we're in.....

T-Minus 13 more days till Brown's Season kicks off!!!!

It could be worse- you could be a Pirates fan.

At least the Indians have been competitive since 1993.

Pqapelbon is still a blown save waiting to happen. He is a closer without an "out pitch"

Last night, Billy Wagner came in with a four run lead and pitched a perfect seventh, and then Okajima gave up four hits and a walk to the five batters he faced, allowing two runs and leaving the bases loaded, no out.

Papelbon came in and was only able to wriggle out of it because Jacoby Ellsbury made a highlight film diving catch and somehow the dumb baserunner on third didn't even score on that flyball out.

A couple of weeks ago, there was a graphic on Papelbon on ESPN saying something like he had pitched with the bases loaded eight times this year and struck out the side in seven of them and was unscored upon in those innings, but I bet he has let more inherited runners score than the average closer has this year. He gets some saves by coming in with a three run lead and two men on and letting the two inherited runners score. He will be come a starter very soon. In fact, if Billy Wagner had agreed to allow his option to be picked up, Papelbon would have been a certainty to be converted into a starter next spring, and if they can buy a proven closer in the off-season, or if Bard comes into his own this month and in the playoffs, that will still happen.
