For now, I covered the front of the IR sensor on the Gbox with some heavy cardboard. Theory being some remote signal got through from a different remote, and caused it to set a soft East limit. IF it happens again, I'll have to consider that the MicroHD somehow sent a signal via coax to set the limit, OR that the Gbox is going wonky. I hope not, but it was given to me used, and I don't know much about it. I do have a Vbox X and another Gbox (NOS!), so I'm covered either way.

I used to use a GBox and it would set the east limit to the position you were at after doing a blind scan. I thought this was associated with the receiver I was using. To prevent this I would turn off the GBox with the remote before the blind scan. Unlike a VBox which won't turn off when the receiver is powered up, the GBox will turn off.
Given the choices you have, I would ditch the GBox and use the VBox X.
