I just ordered a third Directv HDDVR for a new guesthouse I had built. However, it has no telephone line. I forgot that Directv requires this. I read somewhere that I can still receive the Directv signal without the telephone line but cannot record programming. If this is the case, should I change my order and have a non-DVR receiver installed.

Thanks,

Dennis

they no longer require it as a condition of installation. everything will work fine. including recording.

if you connect to your network and have outside access; you can get remote ordering turned on as well; however I prefer online orders if and when I do a PPV as that will activate every receiver on the same account.
