Just got dish setup... local guide not complete?

We just got it all setup, but our local guide only goes through the next 30 mins, then it says no information available. Just tried a hard reset by unplugging it for a while, and it still doesn't have it. What am I doing wrong? Surely I'm not limited to the guide for only 30 mins in advance?

to clarify, this is my local channels as broadcasted by dish, not off-air. All the other dish channels pull the guide fine, it's just the locals that are not complete. Need to schedule house!!

Sometimes it takes up to 24 hours for the guide to fill in completely.

You should be able to use timer based recordings in the meantime.

Do a check switch,that should force a reload of the guide.
