Challenge........

Someone gave me an OVAL Dish shape which is DIrectTV OVAL shape dish,
to give it away to me, because I like satellite dishes. : - ))))

I have a question to challenge.....

Here I have an OVIAL Direct TV Dish shape, which includes it's LNB.
Enclosed photos of the LNB.

Can you tell me what model of an LNB that receives FTA, DBS-2 that
would FIT or match with this OVAL Dish shape????

I know that this OVAL shape Direct TV Dish is Ku band.

The LNB that comes with an OVAL shape dish is for DBS, NOT DVBS-2
to receive FTA channels.

So, what model of an LNB that would replace it as for FTA on this
OVAL shape Direct TV Dish.

What do you think???

Enclosed photos of the LNB with the OVAL Direct TV Dish shape.

Thanks.

Okay folks,
Since that I do not have any reply, I just found what LNB I would need for my OVAL shape dish instead of using
Direct TV's LNB.
The LNB I'm looking for is.....

SF2-D3 LNB

I just found it in my archive file to know what LNB I'm looking for.
It was on ebay, and now it's gone.

Anyone knows where can I buy the
SF-2-D3 LNB for my OVAL Direct TV dish to use for receiving FTA channels??

Thanks,

There is no linear KU LNBF that will swap to fit the support arm of this type of DirecTV Slimline dish. The SF2-D3 LNB LNBF that you listed will not fit the arm tube and will not be placed at the correct Focal Length position.

There are several threads on this forum where a DTV Slimline dish was modified for FSS reception and a 40mm clamp added to hold a regular 40mm throat mount KU LNBF. A fun project, but not a great performer.

Look for a Digiwave DGL-990D. I have one of these on an old slimline dish. It fits in the support arm, but is slightly narrower than the arm east to west. It does however line up correctly without having to modify any brackets or anything; just clamp it in like the DirecTV one was. It is a linear 10.75 lnbf. I use it to get the PBS channels on 125 west. I hope this helps.
