I'm excited about this. Got it on the dish now, but will probably switch it out in an hour or so -- rain showers gonna set in for several days. However, I did a normal blind scan [microHD] of all channels on 99W with my old WSI scalar kit and the Titanium C1-PLL. Results are an impressive 37 TV channels and 27 Radio Channels. This is on a WSI 90 inch dish (90x99). Not bad so far!

Yep I am very impressed with the C1-PLL.

It will be a few days before I can "play" with my microBUD again. As you know, when you get down to these 1 meter and smaller dish sizes, it's almost all experimental with tons of variables. I haven't quite found the sweet spot with the scalar yet. I like to use SatMex6 as my primary satellite with this project as it has a real stew of transmissions: DVB-S and S2, scrambled and ITC, FECs all over the place, occasional feeds, too -- ol' reliables and some surprises, too. As normal with this size dish, the time of day can also affect what you get. Sometimes I'd get about a dozen channels, and other times only three or so scanned in. On the other hand, I was able to receive Globovision from Venezuela, a new one for me.

A couple of the TV channels I first reported on 99W were interference from adjacent sats. Most weren't. I couldn't get GDMX or the CEA muxes (I have in the past, sometimes, with my other LNBF), most of the DVB-S2s, or a few other network feeds. But, I got most everything else just fine, including KCWY, usually touch and go with my DRO LNBF. I was also able to pull in a few new ones: Telesistema (pixelated) and Canal de Casa (perfect) out of Mexico. LESEA and the PR/VI mux booming as always.

Sorry, no NASA or anything on 105 (or even on 103), but NHK had the highest reading yet at a stable 70Q on 58W. I also believe Classic Arts Showcase (SD) was a new catch for me on 91W. When I'm not threatened by darkening skies, bitter cold air, torrential rain, or good Ku-band stuff in the coming days, I'll be able to adjust the scalar a bit more and will likely get some more interesting results (the reason I keep emphasizing this is because it is important. With my DRO LNBF, I could never get the 1/2 FEC NW Territory Legis. channel on 107.3 when I had the scalar flush with the end of the LNBF. Once I had pushed it to align with the first internal ring of the conical scalar, it came it just fine -- however, I lost several other channels on other sats when I did that). I also didn't even bother scanning the whole arc today -- just 2 hours of play. A 90 cm dish is what it is, and you can't get a gallon of limeade out of one key lime. But I think I can juice a few more drops out with this baby. I am already satisfied with its performance.

Proper skew for this LNBF is and always has been 12 or 6 O' Clock. ;)

Yes i was meaning the c1 - pll lnbf I just got it today and didn't receive the results I was with other c band lnb's so I thought I check what the skew setting should be

S6000500.JPGOh, I think I know what you mean. Of course, the pin has to line up with no skew, straight up and down [with the other pin perpendicular] as you look inside the tube. But yes, I had to turn it into the opposite position that I usually put my DMSi BSC421 DRO LNBF in when using it on the microBUD. That is, the outside "boxy" casing, looking at the dish from the front, should be in the 4 o'clock position rather than the 8 o'clock position. Don't forget to slide the LNBF as far back as it can go in the holder (the end of the scalar should touch the holder). I didn't take photos of the Titanium. Pics are worth a thousand words :) Here is a photo of the BSC421 (ignore the alignment with the scalar...although I had good results with this configuration, I find lining the lnbf up with the first inner ring of the scalar is best). The lnb/box casing needed to be on the other side on the Titanium for the correct polarity.

1/12/14 Results on 90cm dish. 12 - 2 pm [clear-calm/55F/"flush with first scalar rim"] scan

*Note: All the following listings are individual channels that scanned in, whether scrambled or ITC, or blank data channels. Some channels were only receivable when moved off the satellite away from adjacent satellite interference, but were successfully traced and listed under their proper location. Some ITC channels had great reception, while others had a high level of interference. The totals listed at the bottom reflect individual channels, not transponders, which are significantly less.
