MLB 2013 Season

Interesting stat.

The Dodgers right side of their infield has the highest batting average (.316) in baseball, mostly Mark Ellis and Adrian Gonzalez. Their left side of their infield has the worst batting average (.205) in all of baseball, a platoon of Cruz, Punto, Uribe, Hairston, and Gordon

There was an article about how I believe FOX Saturday Night baseball last week drew terrible ratings. In fact, the NHL beat them. I had the Braves/Mets on FOX last week
I think last weekend (Saturday) was game 6 or 7 for the NHL ... that explains the NHL beating the MLB game.

Tonight, the Red Sox play the Yankees but unfortunately for Fox, the Bruins are in a conference championship series game tonight. Still the Yankees having Youkilis and Texiera back should help their draw between those Boston fans who might be on the fence. How does Neilson account for chronic channel hopping?

The zap2it listing for my most local Fox affiliate has them carrying the Braves versus the Nationals, but the Baltimore affiliate's zap2it guide only shows regular programming. A week or two ago, they had mistakenly listed regular programming for Saturday gametime, but instead showed a baseball game. The Baltimore Fox affiliate tends to favor American League teams with its selections, and since Strasburg isn't pitching, Harper is injured and Washington has a .500 record, the Braves/Nationals matchup doesn't look as appealing today as it might have looked as recently as a few weeks ago.

No superimposed strike zone on Fox's Red Sox Yankees telecast, and they could have used it a couple of times. Has Fox been using it this year?

Update: I see that in three year old articles, Fox's on-screen strike zone was called Foxtrax, as was their hockey aid, but I didn't find any current articles about it.

If a team regularly uses five guys for two positions, that just about guarantees that they have lousy players there.

You don't have much of a choice when half of your team is in the DL and has been that way pretty much all year.

Their regular Short Stop, Hanley Ramirez, has played two games all year. Mark Ellis was out for a month with a hamstring pull.

Now Kemp is on the DL and it looks like Carl Crawford will be joining him.

Any idea why there is a night (7PM local) game tonight in San Diego?

Nothing against Jerry Remy, but with Rem Dawg under the weather this evening, it's quite a treat listening to Dennis Eckersley and Pedro Martinez talk about pitching! :)

Yes that was very fun to listen to !! :) I wonder if they'll have Pedro back in the booth again?

Angels getting swept again by the Astros!!! THE FRIGGING ASTROS!!!

Last time around, the Tigers got beat by both the Astros and SWEPT by the Angels, iirc.

Not based on this weekend. Geez, the Mets laid a huge goose egg this weekend!! What a disgrace. All that momentum they had with the 5 game winning streak goes right down the drain.

Wow, that would make them worse than the 2003 Tigers !

And the 1962 Mets
