More problems with Charter Cable High Speed Internet)

Nope; and what install costs? I know they will have what amounts to a new acct setup but that is usually no more that $45 but install fee?

I see this offer for DSL 6.0 in Reno, NV

You need to order ONLINE to get these offers.

FREE modem $49.99 - Free after rebate—online offer only.

Setup fee - WAIVED

Customer Self-Installation Install your Internet service yourself and save $200.

Special Offers

* Up to $150 cash back after rebate(s) with qualifying services.

Odd, maybe there is some prerequisite option(s) beforehand that must be selected. Are you an AT&T customer at all? You should just call them and tell them you want to order online to obtain all the special offers, but you can't get the self install to verify.

I am not an AT&T customer ... I was one 6 months ago. (telephone service only but cable gave me a better deal, unlimited local and long distance 14.99$ for 12 months + Caller ID + Call Waiting + Voice Mail and several other features for free as standard...

OH, I must have mis-read before; I thought you already tried your PC at a buddy's connection and were able to browse and the he was also unable to browse at your connection? If that is the case; I would continue to lay the issues on your current ISP; if not; I would research elsewhere in your PC setup unless you are ready to switch ISPs regardless. Maybe try Firefox.

My standard browser is FF, IE sucks big.
Been using FF2 the latest one since it came out, and before that FF.

...and, did you say you had tried the scenarios above? After reading Ron's post I was not sure. If you have, then I doubt its the browser.

Ok so you know Im back on with charter after the att fiasco.

I just tried both of those websites and they loaded fast enough to give me whiplash. When you reformatted what security settings did you put inplace with your browser? Any virus or firewalls running and settings put in place ect ect ect?

I'll have to call charter tomorrow about that 14.99 deal to see if I can get that and the 10 meg for 40.

Also, please remember AT&T in one region may not "really" be AT&T in another area except by name; in GA I am almost sure AT&T is still mostly BellSouth behind the scenes and even if they are all AT&T I doubt they all pass through the same servers as it were in vastly separate areas; NV vs. GA.

Like I said, its not my computer, I've take my CPU to my buddy's house and it worked just fine...the website.
I am 100% its Charters routing problem.
Now the real challenge is, to get someone that is smart...and that understands this....I bet 80% of them don't know wtf they are talking about...sending a tech won't do s****.

Meant to add above.... Charter (or most cable co) all do a regional variance thing; even though they may all be listed under the same home or parent.
