If you can time the outages in seconds apart and you can see a pattern, its TI. Terrestrial interference is bad from radars now days around here. some days C band is un watchable.
I thought I had a bad lnb, alignment, receiver, cables etc. ran myself nuts.

I had T.I. Nothing really to do about it unless you want to throw some mad cash at one of those bandpass chokes that go between the lnb and feed horn.

After two false starts which appeared to work as long as the Motorola 922 was on the bench I disassembled it and checked all regulated DC power for problem capacitors and finding none I ordered and installed a high stability PLL Norsat 3220 LNB on the dish.

After 30 days of operation the HBO dropout problem has ended.
