VOOM Strengthens Performing Arts and Business News Coverage With Addition of NBC Cable Networks

JERICHO, N.Y., March 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- VOOM, the first comprehensive high-definition (HD) television service, today announced that it is continuing to increase its program offerings with the addition of popular arts, entertainment, news and business news channels from NBC Cable Networks, including Bravo HD+, Bravo, MSNBC and CNBC. Today VOOM customers have access to more than 30 HD channels and more than 75 standard-definition (SD) channels.

Rounding out VOOM's HD package are HD favorites such as HBO HD, Cinemax HD, Showtime HD, STARZ! HD, The Movie Channel HD and Discovery HD Theater. The service also includes popular cable channels in standard definition such as TNT, Nickelodeon, Disney, TBS, CNN, A&E and AMC, as well as over-the-air digital local broadcast channels delivered in HD where available.

VOOM's new NBC Cable Networks include the following:

* Bravo, an NBC Cable Network since December 2002, is currently seen in 75
million homes and was the first service dedicated to film and the
performing arts when it launched in December 1980. Today, Bravo offers
innovative arts and entertainment programming with a unique point of
view featuring original series, feature films (both independent and
mainstream), theater, dance, music and documentaries. Bravo boasts
critically acclaimed original programming -- including "Inside the
Actors Studio" hosted by James Lipton, Emmy Award-winning "Cirque du
Soleil Fire Within" and the newest hit series "Queer Eye for the
Straight Guy" and "Celebrity Poker Showdown."
