I have a 30" dish with a Rex receiver. It is pointed to true south, verified with reception of 119 which here in Los Angeles is only 0.8 degrees west of true south.
I was able to accidentaly tune once into Telstar 5 but have no idea how I did it. I was then able to search and watch all channels I was interested in.
Can't find Telstar 5 since then. Can anybody tell me what settings should have when I look for this one at 97? In other words I know that I used USALS last time I found it and it worked, I just had to adjust a little bit east-west for peaking the signal. So I know I have the antenna pointed in the right place since I use the same reference point in USALS (119W, which I can tune into) but cannot see signal on Telstar 5.
I hope it's not total nonsense.....
I know it all works and that I'm on the correct polar mount because I've seen Telstar5 before. But I don't know what transponder / key to search for when moving the dish (using either USALS or Diseqc)
Thanks for your reply in advance. Your help is appreciated
