Oh Joy......51 new HD channels for Philly

I signed up for dish back in the day for more HD and Dish had Voom.
Now I can see myself dropping dish and just going with Comcast.

Every HD channel I want is now available via comcast, except for HDnet.

Oh the hell what's 29 bucks a month? I'll stay for now and just drop down to one 211 ird.

HD life is good here in Philly :)

wow thats crazy, makes me wonder how you guys have the bandwidth for all those HD's when in other cities they claim they cant up more HD on cable cause of bandwidth issues.

Because Comcast is going all digital to open the bandwidth. Look up Project Calvary, World of More, and XFINITY. They are going through the country bit by bit. Soon 50mbps will be standard internet speed.

SDV Technology - Switched Digital Video - TWC has pretty much the same amount in our area, give or take a few (mainly unfortunately the NFL Network and Redzone)

Comcast systems are reducing their analog channels to Limited Basic to free up bandwidth. Baltimore is eliminating several analog channels on Wednesday and adding 39 HD channels a week later. (MASN2 HD will be added Wednesday.)

nice, we have Charter here and they offer I think like 40 HD channels total and I dont see them investing in SDV anytime soon. Its a shame I would be heaven with Phillies comcast have those HD channel plus ondemand, cant beat that.

Yeah I went to Comcast this past week for all 3 services. Love the ondemand and am not missing Dish at all.

I'll be leaving June 18th when they go live hire in Sacramento after 12 years. Only thing I really want them to add that Dish has is Epix and HDnet. Oh well. The triple play bundle will save around 40 bucks a month. Shouldn't have raised those receiver fees, Dish.

S~

This is something I can't stand about Comcast...they offering something like 100 HD channels where my parents live in Michigan, yet there are only 30-some available in my area in VA - mostly because they still have a zillion analog channels. Ugh! I wish Comcast would upgrade and standardize of their "acquired" cable plants.

These additions will take us to over 150 HD channels.

And the best just got better
