OTA EPG Info Incorrect or Displaying 'Digital Service'

I had the same issue going on. I tried getting it corrected through DIRT, though they weren't able to get through to the correct people it seems (though I appreciate their time and effort they put toward it... it was more than I ever expected). I contacted that dishquality email, got a response yesterday... and today, it is fixed. After over a year of it being incorrect. Makes me so happy! I never thought anyone would get it fixed....

How long ago did you send your e-mail? I sent one over a week ago about this issue and have not gotten a response?

Please update the OTA guide info for KDOC 56.3 in Los Angeles. That subchannel carries MeTV, which is the same feed carried on KVME channel 20 in the guide.

Email that address if it is WRONG (e.g. it is showing AntennaTV info for MeTV). If it just says "Digital Service" you are out of luck.

And Dish may "fix" it by making it say "Digital Service"

I sent it probably a week ago as well, maybe a bit more. They fixed it a day after they responded, though, so I think they can fix it pretty quick.

Just noticed something, and maybe it's specific to Hoppers and Joeys, but I don't see "Digital Service" anymore, I see the channel's name in X-hour blocks and it just repeats.

Was going to see how it showed up in DishOnline but they seem to filter out what they know are broken entries !!

Here's WPTD's channel line-up. Note the channel 16-2:

Here's what the remote-accessed-guide is showing. Note channel 16-2 missing:

On the actual receiver, it reads "16Ag" over and over in 2-4 hour blocks...

On the 722 it will say Digital Service, on H/J it says call sign.

Yep I read somewhere (think it's an article by James Long) all about how the OTA guide data works, or in many cases doesn't.

Okay - I had the 722k previously so I've seen "Digital Service" before but don't remember seeing it for a while. I thought it was different on the Hopper.

Haha, I reported 16.2 as being incorrect back in June/July of 2009 ! I was even in contact with the CE at the station, who tried to contact Dish to fix this. WPTD shuffled channels around when they flipped the digital switch and it's been wrong ever since....

For WKOI, does Dish carry them for the Cincinnati market ? If Dish doesn't carry at least the primary channel, they will NOT fix a channel's entry. This probably applies to 36.1 as well.

Go to the Zap 2 It website - if it's correct there (they are part of Tribune), then you know it's Dish at fault.

Traverse City/Cadillac local OTA channels 045-01 and 045-02 say digital service. 045-01 is 033-00 Fox WFQX and 045-2 is 009-00 WWTV CBS.

My OTA has all programs listed ( I am in the same market) You might want to perform a switch check

Binghamton, NY DMA a couple PBS sub-channels OTAs show "Digital Service" for the following channels:

046-02 WSKG 2 PBS World "Digital Service" (no Programming info)

We have 3 channels that Dish carries that have guide data on the XX-00 channel but the XX-01 (OTA) channel shows no guide data.

On these three OTA channels all the guide for my Hopper says is The name of the channel, for instance Lubbock Texas Channel 14-00 (KMYL - MyTV Network) has full guide data but the OTA channel with my OTA module 14-01 on RF channel 22.2(same channel just OTA) the guide just says KMYL.

Channel 32-00 KJTVC KJTV Weather has guide data but 32-01 on RF channel 33.1 KJTVC just says KJTV.

Channel 46-00 - KXTQ Telemundo has guide data but channel 46-01 on RF channel 22.1 just says KTXQ.

In the past there was a problem linking guide data to a virtual channel that was not the primary sub-channel on that RF frequency (KLCW 22.1 was actually 22.1 RF channel and KMYL 14.1 was on RR channel 22.2 and dish had a problem correctly linking the guide data to the secondary RF channel, so the station moved the stations around on their RF signals so they both were on the primary RF signal (they have 4 separate RF channels here to play with and the guide data began working).

Any ideas why these OTA channels for which Dish carries the channel on satellite would not have guide data?

That may be the problem with Virtual channel 14-01 , but the other 2 are the primary sub-channel on their frequency.

If the station shuffled them around, they likely changed the TSID in the process. That's what Dish uses to match things up with. As of what, 1+ year ago, the folks at Dish who can adjust / fix this no longer do.
