I was thinking it was mounted on your roof, i.e. the SW corner of it, not the ground. Being on the ground, yeah, that will be a problem.

Yeah, my best bet is an indoor.

Here are the three I'm looking at. Which would be my best bet?

I listed the same RCA one above ... from Walmart ... for less money. Key here is if it doesn't work, it's easily returned and you can get a different one.

I know. I'm comparing it to those other antennas, trying to see if anyone has some experience with any of them.

I just used Amazon for the product links. I'll end up buying one wherever it's cheapest here.

I have used a small 6 x 12 inch amplified antenna. It was a GE Futura TV24769. It worked sort of OK when mounted outside but not very well when used inside. The transmitters were 25 miles or so away. I used this as a backup while I was doing some remodelling. Afterwards I remounted the larger antenna. A small antenna like this can be easily mounted at roof level from the eave. A larger antenna, can also be mounted just above the roof via an eave. Most stores will take back an antenna if it isn't doing the job for you. Just be careful not to damage it when trying it out. To mount from an eave, you need a short mast, a wall/eave bracket mount, and the antenna. The mast and mount are available at most home improvement stores as well as Radio Shack. Have you asked your landlord if you can attach an antenna to the eave at roof level?

Thanks, I'll check out Radio Shack. I've bought an antenna from them before that ended up not working for me and they took it back with no issues.

Unfortunately, I can't mount anything outside.

Got the free OTA module today. I'll keep looking into antennas and try some out over the next few weeks.

Thanks for all of your help, everyone :)

Why aren't all my local channels in HD?

Have you guys seen the price increases???
