Did someone remember to tell you to put a bolt through the end of the pole that goes into the concrete?
Or hammer it flat, a bit?
Anything to keep it from turning, later.

As for the mount, do some searching on this forum for home-made adapters to replace the heavy factory mounts.
Puts less load on the motor.
Once you see the ideas, then you can decide what to do (and based on which motor you choose, too).

Keith unless you dont want more than one pole, I wouldnt worry with having to dig up later. I've moved one about 4 times here, never used more than 2bags of quikrete so its pretty easy to un-plant. Get those corner posts for chainlink fence at lowes or some building supply-10-11bucks , they're just right. So much rock here I can't get lower than about 2feet without blasting, so mine are !@# solid when I finally get one in the ground anyway. Loose soil would require more depth \concrete to be sure though.

No I didn't put a bolt on it...but I have never heard of one turning down here in our swampland, either. I used a fence corner post,I had three of them, someone was throwing away a couple years ago so I picked them up...never knew I would need them. Dug about 18" and struck water....LOL....there's fenceposts everywhere and I've never heard of one turning.I drove it about a foot in the ground after it bottomed in the hole, then levelled it up and poured it. Back in the day my Dad and I put a 4" pipe in for our BUD and we didnt do it and its there to this day....;)

I just hope the danged thing stays plumb....I got it to within 1/64 inch or so, that's about the best I can do..the level I am using is supposed to be accurate within 1/8 inch, the double line is 1/8 inch so I should be within 1/64 inch...
