I have n HR23 HD DVR and 2 H21 HD boxes. I'm upgrading to the whole home dvr and I've already purchased 3 DECAs, the Cinema Kit, and the stop filter. I have a wireless internet router installed already. DTV tells me I'm ready to go once I get the DECAs hooked up, but I've read so much recently about this green label SWM stuff that it has me worried. I have a white label SWM LNB with a power supply at one of the H21 boxes. My eight way splitter is also not green label. What does this mean? Am I going to be losing something because I don't have green label SWM equipment? What's the difference? I know this has probably been covered before, but please help. Thanks.

The Green Label Splitters are required for installations with Whole Home service and or if you want to network your installation with internet (Cinema Connection) connectivity to your receivers.

DTV did my installation about 4 or 5 years ago with white label stuff and continue to tell me over the phone that my set up is compatible. What gives?

The green label SWiM splitters were initially supposed to have some sort of filtration in the MOCA/Deca band 425-675 Mhz, but through recent testing on a spectrum analyzer we have proved that there is no detectable difference in frequency response between the Green Label, and White label SWM Splitters in all sizes 2way 4way and 8way.

That makes the only difference The UL Listed imprint Due to changes in Electrical code in certain jurisdictions, since Directv receivers pass power to the dish/switch over the RG6 cable all parts of the system now need to be UL Listed. So someone has paid to have the green splitters UL listed. That is the only difference.

Here is another question to confuse the OP that started this thread, but it is directed towards PATECO. Now the OP states that his Dish was set-up 4-5 years ago, which means that his LNB isn't green labeled either(sorry for the ADDED confusion),does that mean that he'll also need a Band Stop Filter http://www.solidsignal.com/pview.asp?p=BSFR01&d=DIRECTV-Band-Stop-Filter-(BSFR01) to place between the single cable running from his "non-green labeled" LNB to his splitter & the in part of his splitter(irregardless of whether he has a green labeled or white labeled splitter)?

Not as far as I am concerned. The only time I would put a bandstop between the Lnb and the Receiver or Deca is if the LNB is less than 25' from either of these devices. And even then it should work without the bandstop. The MRV signal is pretty hot to overcome port to port isolation in the splitter(s). In some instances this extra noise hitting the LNB in Moca frequencies can cause SWiM communication issues. I have rarely run into this issue, since in most instances your cable runs and SWiM splitter network pad this signal down enough already. If you are having an issue, and you have a short cable run and/or realy simple splitter network (one 2way) you may want to try the band stop filter.
