The entertainment center was designed and built by my Father-in-Law with some input from my wife and me (my wife's input was basically "make sure it's wide enough to fit a bigger TV!") If I had known that 65" sets would be coming down in price as much as they have, I would have had the center section made about 5"-6" wider. Theoretically, a 60" bezel-less screen would just fit, but that's how it goes...

We moved into a much smaller home but very cozy easy to heat and cool especially with winters in Nebraska. Even downsized home studio to Denon AVR-X2300W, Klipsch RP-160M, Klipsch RP-450C, Klipsch R-14S, klipsch Sub along with a couple Sony 4K Tvs. The 55" is monitor hme theater.JPG

Did you make the screen from scratch, or is it a kit? Aspect ratio?

Would love to see a photo of it in use. Nice setup!
Designed from scratch.
Aspect ratio is source aspect sized to fit screen. Pretty much any ratio

The screen is 8 foot high by 16 foot wide,
professional seemless theater screen from Rose Brands company, material is ok for light rain, spray/rinse with garden hose as needed. Screen has edge gromets for bungy mounting to frame. $250

Frame for screen is 2in diameter pvc,
Frame pieces interlock for ease of put-up/take-down. $50

Projector is Epson Home Cinema 8700UB. $1500. Projector easy-twist-remove mount $50.

Sound bar is Samsung with wireless sub. $150.

System wired throught ceiling into family room. Tied into multi-tainment center in family room by way of hmdi 2x8 matrix with headphone jack feeding FM transmitter and bluetooth for additional audio as needed. $300 labor/parts.

Under $2500 total.

We have taken it 'on the road' to watch UFC at nascar weekend campouts.

I'm another one who loves the old stuff. The tech, the decor, the cars, the movies/shows/music… And how easy it is to access it today, recently got fiber internet out here in the sticks.

50" Hitachi CRT RPTV. And that's all my DVDs. Got a dresser and boxes full of VHS in the basement.

My living room setup is split to the bedroom, and a remote repeater lets me control it all from the bedroom if I want.
