my bill is $176.94
one genie
one genie slave
and 3 HR24's
Ultimate package programing and regional sports package (MSG)
I probably could drop one of the Hr'24 and get another slave and that would save me the $7.00 dvr rate on one but that's it. I deep fired my Onion rings that "BILL" said I can lower my bill by getting a lesser programming package. Gee thanks save more by taking programming away. thank you Captain Obvious.

going from a dvr to a mini is no savings, both are $7 a month.
there is only 1 dvr fee for the account,
you have 5 tvs thats $35 a month
remove 3 and save $21

drop to the preferred xtra ( i think thats the name) it also takes out the regional sports fee. some sports channels, but puts other channels in there

my bill is like $280. but i have all the channels but not pay per view porn etc. and 8 dvrs. the best i get is 6 months free hbo showtime sports etc when they screw something up bad

I priced out spectrum cable with 5 receivers and record ability etc. about $95.00 a month almost 1/2 of the price I pay right now. for pretty much the same programming like I stated before I don't have any premium stations at all.

Solution. Leave. After 22 years and playing with the alternatives for two years, I am out the door. Tried YouTube TV free for three weeks and stopped watching DirecTV after week one. To be fair, at Jimbo's suggestion, I took a six-month trial separation. But since i lost all my "incentives/freebies", I can't imagine going back. Looking back, i can't believe I've paid them hundreds, probably thousands, in box rentals, junk fees (whole-home, HD,etc.), and an monthly equipment protection plan. I can buy a lot of sticks, dongles, and boxes with the savings.

YTTV may not be for all but for me with all my locals, most the OTT's, 9-month flawless cloud DVR, a good Guide, user-friendly interface, and better PQ it's a no brainer. I also have gig fiber Internet, hard-wired Ethernet (redundant?), and mesh WiFi, that I think is a must for good performance especially with all the other IoT suckers on line.

Typing this, I think I will call now as I hear I will get better return offers if I quit cold turkey.

Thing is, you didn't have these options many years ago .... now that you do,, its easier to say.
When you got D* you probably had Cable as an option or Sat.
There was no streaming available ...

Cancelled DirecTV. Bill Was $150/month 5-Tv's
Went with YoutubeTV and Rokus all around $50/month..
Best decision ever.
Got a call 3 days after cancelling, offered me same thing I had for $69/month first year on 2 yr contract, plus $200 gift card, plus all premiums channels free for 6-months, plus free NFL Ticket/Redzone. Didn't want to deal with the hassle of ordering all the equip, installer etc. Even told the rep that had they offered me something in between $5 off per month, and this offer, I would have stayed, buy since I can't get 2 networks OTA, I may not have.

Correct. I loved DirecTV and was an enthusiast for their latest and greatest. Then they stopped innovating letting the competition get way out in front. I'm a loyal guy, only owned two trucks in the last 41 years. But, loyalty only goes so far.
