I live out in the Virgin Islands and we have to use big dishes here for dish networks. I bought a prime focus dish advertised for C and KU band. I've also got dishpro dual LNBFs.

On first try to get a signal from 110, I got nothing. I have used all the equipment on a 4 ft offset dish. I know about the pointing difference of a prime focus vs offset and pointed a lot higher.

What am I missing here?

Probably hitting the satellite, the larger the dish the smaller the beam width. That means you need to be more accurate to hit the signal.

So you think my setup is feasible and my issue is aiming?
180cm Prime focus dish
Dishpro Dual LNBF
DPP44 switch
VIP612 receiver

Anyone out there actually using this setup? If so, is a second LNBF possible for getting nearby bird?
