I have 2 receivers, one hooked up to a non-HDTV via component. I have the box output set to 480p. The HD channels and locals look tall and skinny, but the SD channels are perfect. I understand that HD channels aren't going to look right on a SDTV.

However, I could stretch digital locals when they weren't broadcasting HD with my samsung t150, but I can't figure out how to do this with my Voom box. The Picture Format-> Stretch option doesn't work with my locals. Does anyone know how to do this?

I haven't tried connecting the box through composite, would that work?

There's a cover on the right hand front of the machine, open it and you will find a little red button, each time you push it you will see a light bar go across, keep pushing until all the lights come on all at once, then you are in Auto mode.

Before you do that, does your TV have an "Enhanced for 16:9" function? If it does, you can turn that on and it will squeeze down the image.

oh i thought that auto and native were 2 different things, sorry. Tried and it works great!! HD channels and locals are letterboxed (its a 4:3 set) and SD fills the screen correctly. Thank you so much guys!
