Question about boost mobile

I have the unlimited on a motorola w835 clam shell and have a couple of questions.

Hows the battery life for others on this phone?

Any idea how I can disable incoming text messages on the phone so that I dont get anymore anoying "Sup group" messages?

Call quality is great, phone works good and the camera takes good pics as well so no complaints at all other than the text messages.
