R15 & PiP

Is it possible to setup the R15's to be able to do PiP? I would think the only way it would work it would have to have an output for each turner.

Am I correct?

Yes, or you could have the R15 feed one tuner while OTA or cable feeds the other.

You can't. To do PIP on your TV you'll need a different output like another receiver or OTA.

Thats what I thought. I asked because I have had a few customers ask me about it before and thats what I told them.

Sorry, the only DIRECTV DVR's that had PiP internally were the old "Ultimate TV" receivers. (DIRECTV's first DVR).

None of the newer DVR's have this feature. DIRECTV's response to PiP is to get 2 receivers.

Yup,
PIP needs two receivers as all have stated. I installed one where the big box store sold a second HDTV receiver for the PIP #2. It didn't demonstrate the capabilities of HDTV in that little screen very well.
