I'm getting ready to place a install order for a HD-DVR single TV service.
One of the options is they will connect the receiver to the Internet for $25 plus Tax
so I can get VOD.
I currently have in my Den office Qwest 1.5 MBPS DSL service using a Actiontec GT701-WG modem.
This modem has only one Ethernet port that is connected to my computer & a USB port that can be used to connect another computer.
It also has wireless access.
The HDTV is located in my living room.
Will the installer use DECA,run cable or use a wireless
adapter to connect my receiver to the internet?

For a single receiver they will not install DECA. For internet access you can use a wireless adapter. I'll let others in the know recommend the best one to use. The installer will not do this.

Why not just install a 4 port router on the modem?

Run the single Ethernet to the router and run lines to the PC and the DVR.

I have a few more items running in my set up than you're looking at doing but , 4 STB's, 3 Xboxes 1 hard wired PC and a wireless router without an issue.

It looks like that DSL Modem is also a router, therefore connecting another router could be problematical. He really should just connect an ethernet switch to expand the number of wired connections.

I really didn't have time this morning to look it up, thanks for that.

Ethernet switch is the way to go in that case. Simple and elegant.
