I have noticed that commercials have become not only louder but also tunes/music that is pounding or irritating. Now it feels like some TV shows are now doing the same thing. This is over time but I still asking myself if I am just irritable (highly possible) or have they really changed?

This is over time but I still asking myself if I am just irritable (highly possible) or have they really changed?

I find different channels to be all over the map in their respective audio levels. I'm not sure I perceive that the level fluctuates much within a particular channel.

If you have an audio system that can handle surround sound, there may be some changing of gears that is taking place in your audio system in moving from surround to stereo and back or vice versa. I find 5.1 sound to often be at a lower volume level than 2.0 sound.
