Hi "SatGuys",

I am new to the forum, and I have a question; what is the best cable to use to setup FTA... I have a Coolsat Pro receiver, a Fortec 36" dish and a Fortec FSKU-V LNB. (need to get a motor, most probably a SG2100)

Thanks
Peter

welcome :wave

RG6 is what I use...make sure its rated up to 2200mhz (or 2.2Ghz) just to cover yourself :)

Welcome to Satelliteguys.us !! We're happy you're here !

Use RG-6, and for best results use compression ends. You can get a compression installation tool for ~$15. The ends are readily available as well.

What about RG-11???

I've read where RG-11 has lesser resistance than RG-6. Is there that much of a difference seen signal wise on the cable? I've seen the cable selling on Ebay at much more expensive prices than RG-6.

If you have a really long run, RG-11 would be worth it. It's not required for most installations.
