So the wife and I sit down to watch the Chuck preview and get the 896 error.

I call Dish and they guy is totally lost. He keeps asking me when I recorded it and had zero idea that Dish PUTS programming on the DVR, in fact I said it was a 622 at least five times to which he asked "What kind of equipment are you have a problem with"

He keeps telling me he cannot help me with the problem even after talking to co-workers.

I google it and come up empty, then I figured I'd google with with quotes, which brought me right here.

I hit PLAY instead of Enter and voila!

I told the guy where I found the fix and what it was, he did not bother to make note of it. Figure he would have so it would go into their database.
