Scripps dispute?

Since the ION national feed is available on DirecTV, I'm not sure how much those affiliates matter to DirecTV satellite viewers. The following do matter to DirecTV customers. The list has been updated to include recent acquisitions from Gray.

  • KZTV — Corpus Christi, TX
  • KRTV / KXLH — Montana (Great Falls / Helena)
  • KKTV — Colorado Springs, CO (acquired from Gray)
  • KMVT — Twin Falls, ID (acquired from Gray)

NBC Affiliates (12 stations)

The Scripps owned Ion locals most likely aren't part of it, they weren't part of the Comcast dispute and most of those stations have free must carry status for another year.

"Threats" are a part of many carriage negotiations. Whether the broadcaster puts crawls across the bottom of the screen by or something shows up at directvpromise.com, it is one or both of the companies trying to get out ahead of a possible dispute.

There may be an additional burr under Scripps' saddle this time around, as DIRECTV was part of a campaign to prevent E.W. Scripps from acquiring INYO Broadcast Holdings earlier this year. Scripps was previously forced to divest INYO to come under the 39% national coverage limit. That said, Comcast had a dispute with Scripps in April, and the cable operator wasn't directly involved in the ownership protest.

Is the dispute resolved ?

We're working with Scripps Media to renew its local broadcast stations, yet Scripps is seeking a major rate increase to allow our customers to access the same programs that those stations or their national broadcast networks already make available for free over the air and often online.

We want our customers to receive the best value for their money and appreciate their patience while we work with Scripps to finalize this renewal.

Wait they own ION ? So would that impact wnba friday games ?? Or only local markets

Hoping it'll get resolved quickly. ABC has the Stanley Cup Final this year and it involves the Vegas Golden Knights, which has a Scripps-owned affiliate (KTNV 13).

The WTVQ sale hasn't closed yet, Scripps only took it over via a LMA, so it's not listed on TVPromise for Lexington

For the former Ion stations:
It doesn't show WXPX/66 Tampa, but it does show KMCC/34 Vegas and KUPX/16 Salt Lake City

EDIT: They finally updated the streaming server, WXPX is affected too, however as of now the ex-Gray stations in Colorado Springs and Twin Falls are still active even though TVPromise lists them, which would bring them to the 54 listed in the press release:

Most of them should still be able to access ABC's sports via the ESPN app if they subscribe to a package with ESPN as ESPN Unlimited access isn't affected by the dispute. Basically, anyone with Entertainment and higher, Mas Ultra and higher, or MySports. ESPN Unlimited uses a separate system to link it to Disney logins and isn't tied to TV Everywhere credentials like it was during the ESPN3 days.

WPXE/55 Milwaukee and WNPX/28 Nashville are also affected.

WPXE has opt-outs for some local sports, while WNPX is converting to The Spot soon for the Predators.
