I was putting together a primer on how to connect the microHD to a V/Gbox controller or a DiSEqC 1.2 motor that has been previously programmed and thought that it might be good to post in the main FTA forum for the general knowledge base.

Before starting the sharing process:
  • Compile a list of the motor position numbers that have been assigned for each satellite position. These are often displayed in the controller display or in the previous STB's motor installation menu.
  • Perform a RESET to 0 on the new STB to clear out any stored motor position numbers.

There are 4 ways to share the DISEqC 1.2 settings that have been previously saved in a V/Gbox or HH DiSEqC 1.2 motor:

1. With the V/GBox or DiSEqC 1.2 motor connected to the new STB, activate DiSEqC 1.2 on the new STB and use the GoToX function to issue the first motor position number to the Vbox. Once the motor has positioned the dish, select the corresponding satellite position number in the new STB and Press SAVE. Repeat for each satellite.

2. Use the V/Gbox or previous STB to select and drive the motor based on the position number. Once the motor has positioned the dish, select the corresponding position number for the satellite in the new STB activate DiSEqC 1.2 and SAVE. Repeat for each satellite. The new STB can be connected to the controller or to the loop through of the original receiver

3. With the coax disconnected from the receiver, program the new STB and save each motor position number to the corresponding satellite. Connect the coax from the new STB to the Vbox. The receiver will now issue the motor reference numbers and the Vbox will drive to the saved position.

4. Use an editor program. Turn on DISEqC 1.2 and save the corresponding motor position number for each satellite position. Load the User Data Base back into the new receiver. The receiver will now issue the motor reference numbers and the Vbox will drive to the saved position.
