It started happening about 2 days ago when the temperature climbed above 100 in the day and the 103 sat just quits giving me a signal. I restarted the receiver and still dint fix it. All other sat's including 99 come in with 90+ signal.

After about 5 pm when the sun begins to set the signal comes back and to test the theory of the equipment getting too hot i hosed down the dish and cooled it off and went back inside and the signal was back for about 30 mins until it heated up again. Has anyone seen this happen?

Thanks

Heat can warp the dish. It does'nt take much and you will drop out a Sat. I had the same problem and a realign will take care of it.
Check your Sat readings cold and warming up and you will see what I mean.

Heat causes the LNB to act erratically. Tons of LNB's quit working in the heat of the day, then start working when the sun starts going down. I'd have D* change the LNB out.

Agree with this response.

I'm Nationwide
11+ years in Phoenix and NEVER had a dish or LNB fail; can't get much hotter anywhere in the USA.

D* equipment is really reliable. E* LNB's are always going out when it gets hot. They'll work great until the heat of the day, and then just shut down. D*'s LNB's hardly ever quit working, but every now and then you get a bad one.

I had the exact same problem. No drop outs when the dish was cool, lots of drop outs when the dish was hot. Directv adjusted my dish and the problem went away. They did not replace any equipment.

That's not a dish warping in heat, that's an entire different issue.
