Just rec'd a gifted Solomend PVR800...

Went to replace the other unit to try this out, and can't get it to the antenna setup mode.

I have a fixed dish at 97.0W. The only items in the menu I can enter / manipulate are the Lat / Long. I can also see a factory list of birds, and can enter new ones if desired. But I am unable to manually enter any single satellite parameters, such as Freq and SR to find the sats, or to blind scan.

It has been factory reset.

Wondering if searching for and applying a firmware update would help?

Thanks

Not familiar with that receiver. Here is a link for the manual, if that helps (says Sathawk in the link but Solomend in manual): :)http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Products/SatHawk/SatHawk-PVR800-Manual.pdf

Yes, went there first, but the manual is very basic, and didn't help me solve the issue.

Looks like firmware is outdated, so might try an update.

Fixed issue with a firmware update

I'm almost certain that whoever gave you the unit, tried to replace the firmware themselves with a version from the Openbox S10 or one of the many other nearly-identical models that used to proliferate. I've done it many times myself (in hopes that it would fix some bugs or add some features) and the inability to use almost all of the menus was the frequent result.
