I've been on Comcast internet cable for about 6 weeks now. When I first signed up, I was routinely getting DL speeds of 22Mbps and 3.5Mbps up. I'm still getting close to the 3.5 Mbps up, but my download speeds have fallen off to 5-10 Mbps (mostly more toward 5Mbps).

Was I getting a teaser deal to start? I thought I was paying for around 12Mbps, but with "burst", 20+Mbps.

I'm running a MBA with the latest OS software (10.7.x). I don't understand why I'm basically back to Qwest DSL speeds.

What time of the day are you doing the tests? Is it also bad weather around?

Most of the time, my rates are on the same high end (20+/4), but now and then, they slow down some.

You might also want to reboot your router. I've found that some times its just the router that is causing the problem.

Retrofitting RG6 to my house, need some advice
