I'm calling some places to find a post for my Fortec 120cm.
Found a place where they sell 2 3/8" dia. X 6ft. and he told me it's 1/8 thick. (so it must be 2.5'' OD?)

Anyway, do you think 1/8" is enough ?

I think I would still fill it with cement and then attach mounting hardware after cemet hardens.

Pipe is sized much differently than round tubing.

Tubing is sized on outer diameter and wall thickness while pipe is... well... pipe.

2-3/8" tubing is 2-3/8" OD regardless of wall thickness.

2" pipe is 2-3/8" OD regardless of schedule. Wall thickness varies from 1/16" for schedule 5 pipe to almost 7/16" for "double extra heavy" pipe

There are numerous calculations that go into determining wind loading and the like, so it is probably easier to go for overkill than to figure it out. Don't use something that you wouldn't feel comfortable hanging off of from a tall building.

Thanks, I just know nothing about all this. I'll go to check it out tomorrow. I want to make sure, at 120cm it's getting serious.
