SV-8000HD and Cable QAM

Does the SV-8000HD receives clear cable QAM, I was under the impression that it does until I tried it at a friend's apt couldn't find any channel, receives ATSC (OTA) perfectly, the Samsung tunner used it says it does in the spec sheet, I'm confused.

Only has a ATSC Tuner, No Qam !!

the receivers that have a OTA tuner in it are ASTC only
