You don't have to be a new customer to get the H3 fee reduced to $ 10 but you"ll most likely need to talk to retention/;loyalty.
I had a 622 and also didnt want to change mainly due to the increase in the monthly fee but $10 I could live with.
I'm glad I did -the H3 works great for us.

I just don't see them "shutting off" running ViPs with no technical need to do so. Not installing for new service I get that. Also I doubt they'd turn away business from a self-installer who buys one on eBay and wants to new-account activate.

You can don't see it all you want but they are doing it. The wen is the unknown but we know it's coming not too far off

But I've heard a lot of griping about hopper. Does it require a talk-back link to DiSH?

Also I'm highly unimpressed with the remotes they've put out for those.

How does a poor mans hopper even begin to make sense when you can buy a hopper 3 with a joey 3 for bouts 65-70 smackers off of ebay. hoping it's clean after running the numbers. atleast you can expand and upgrade the hopper 3 later on

Well, FWIW, recent work orders are mostly Hopper 3's for most people, With Pluses and J4's. Hopper/Slings are now shipping with Joey 3's so I think they're going to start using Joey 2's for bad credit accounts

if i was him id'e haggle!!! they gave us the DVR fee for 10.00 a month for two years. but were new subs he might have to play the csr game

We just did a 722 update to a Hopper 3/Joey with no increase to the customer's bill

We can let the bureaucrats run free and they'll require all jets to be equipped with buggy whips.

ViP series has OLD HDDs. Even if you could find one of the "anointed ones" to replace it with, they will be old and probably taken out of service.
