I'm curious, why are the 129/77 tmps not considered to be mirrored? I understand that 61.5 and 129 are more or less analogous, but aren't the 129/77s also mirrored to WA and EA?

So, if I understand this right, this could be a sign even more national HD is coming soon on Dish Network? I am happy with what we've received, but I wouldn't object to AMC HD or Wealth TV HD.

129/77's are not optimal (or properly mirrored) because there is an exceeding high quantity of non-EA east coast installs. The average install is 61.5 & 110/119.

That makes sense. They are EA mirrored, but that doesn't cover everyone in EA markets.

HDRoberts- thanks for keeping up on the changes, I've been swamped with actual work.

There are a ton of people who don't get either 129 or 77.

Channels at 110 or 119 could be mirrored to either 72.5 (is that even active yet?) or 77. They could also be put at 61.5, but probably wouldn't. But any channel at 129 MUST be put at 61.5 or it's not available to everyone.

Soooo...13 available. This, along with Charlie's comments at Team Summit, are a good sign. Room for a good chunk of the major basic HD channels that are either currently available or coming soon. Sure, there will be some negotiation somewhere that breaks down, but it's apparent that DISH is finally serious about HD again.

lol, im new here and i am kind of lost

Is this list like channels of hd and what satellite they are on? Then if it is blank, that means there will be a new HD Channels? Also, what does TMP Mean?
Sorry for the stupid questions

I wouldn't even object to QVC HD. They've put enough halfway decent channels on this year that they've earned the right to put one or two that brings 'em in a little revenue.

IIRC, they have not bothered to map TMPs to 53xx (Dish Latino HD) until they are close to making them avaliable (in fact, in the past, sometimes the mapping to 53xx occurred a few hours or days after the channels were made available).

The recent addition of SpikeHD and FxHD despite that Charlie Chat comment about the channels not being up for contract renewal yet, implies that the new Programming team is taking a different tact in negotiations, a tact that is resonating more with the negotiators on the other end of the table. So, totally a guess - but I would think that the missing Rainbow channels is a good guess.

PS A good addition to the chart would be an asterisk for channels that are using enough bandwidth for video.

I hope so. They announced two Rainbow channels coming two springs ago: AMC and IFC. I don't know what the other Rainbow channels might be.

JohnH is reporting that there is enough bandwidth being used for video but all of the channels appear to be using the same video feed...whatever it is.

Really ? Someone smocking too much :D

See real picture of the TMP channels at 61.5W tp32 and 31.
